Cross the Ledra Street checkpoint into Northern Cyprus and walk 10 minutes to the Büyük Han — a 16th century Ottoman caravanserai now housing craft workshops and a café. Then walk back through the buffer zone past abandoned buildings frozen since 1974. It is one of the strangest and most moving urban experiences in Europe.
